Smart farming with artificial intelligence

A web server of smart farming is a data service that uses HTTP connections. Clients can connect to the web server from anywhere via LAN or the Internet. Farmers can connect to the system from anywhere to view the data. Raspberry Pi acts as a web server so that other devices can access data through a web browser on a computer, phone or tablet. The web server of smart farming is used to connect to the system and view the data.

Application

The system can connect to the Internet, so devices such as computers, smartphones, and tablets can access the system. It is necessary to install additional programs to display the data. Three languages are used in program development:

  •     HTML, (text markup language);
  •     Python;
  •    Java Script.


Every language has a different function. HTML acts as the core of the display; While Python connects to the database to transfer data. JavaScript is displayed as a graph using the CanvasJS module, which is flexible and customizable. In the next steps, a series of commands will be written to run Raspberry Pi by installing DHT 11 Library.

This smart farming system is designed to monitor temperature and humidity. The data is displayed through a web browser and this system can store the data. The results show that this sample has been tested in developed farms and can perform well in addition to displaying data and also storing data. This prototype system can be extended to the industrial level in the future and work for longer to provide farmers with useful information throughout the life of a plant.

Systems to be built in the future can measure plant growth statistics. This system has been implemented in a country where agriculture has been very important and the results have been useful. Therefore, it can be said that it is necessary to provide a prototype of a smart farm system for local Thai rice farmers.

We said at the beginning of this article that the purpose of this research is to design a prototype of a smart farm using sensors to measure temperature and humidity using the Internet of Things (IOT).

Overall, the results show that this system is part of the automatic water control system and is very important for a smart farm. Because moisture can directly affect crop growth.

The system is stable during operation and can operate continuously without abrupt cessation.

Hardware devices can work well with the Raspberry Pi, and the DHT22 sensor works perfectly without overheating.

Numerical results of sample study

The software and software of this system are designed for continuous and trouble-free display of information in the crop and data storage section. The results show a temperature between 32 degrees and 35 degrees Celsius and an average humidity of 53-58%. It is best to test this initial system several times to check the stability, reliability of the hardware and software, and to allow the system to be expanded on a large scale.

 

In addition, the system of smart farming can be effective in areas where there is no stable Internet; Because the data is stored on the SD card in the Raspberry Pi. The collected data is processed using machine learning or data mining to predict system performance for future tasks.

Finally, we conclude that a smart farm plays a major role in improving production and transforms traditional agriculture into modern agriculture. IOT technology is in many ways an important factor in improving traditional agriculture and making farm management easier.

Modern agriculture and smart farm is one of the most important issues in the world of crop production. As the population grows and the need for food grows, the importance of developing these technologies increases.
